He returned to Brighton & Hove Albion following the conclusion of his loan and made a seamless transition to life in the Premier League, making 36 appearances under Graham Potter last season.
However, he has now reportedly undergone the second stage of his medical and could soon join the Gunners for £50m.

However, Palace now look set to land the England youth international, who will join former teammate Marc Guehi in making the move from Stamford Bridge to Selhurst Park.

Despite appearing to have missed out on Gallagher, Leeds are seemingly on the verge of getting one deal over the line.
According to Nettavisen, the Whites have had a bid accepted for Valerenga goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.
The fee is reportedly worth an initial £1.6m, but could rise to £2m and would make Klaesson the third first-team signing of the summer after the arrivals of Junior Firpo and Jack Harrison.
Kiko Casilla’s loan move to Spanish outfit Elche left Leeds in need of competition for Illan Meslier and Klaesson, a Norway under-21 international, appears to be the man who will provide it.
