Very few of the players who arrived as part of the influx of new signings in the summer of 2017 will be remembered in the history books, but Ezgjan Alioski certainly will.
Although sometimes as frustrating as he was exciting, the Macedonian maverick captured the hearts of Leeds United supporters with his infectious personality and unwavering commitment to the cause.
Utilised mostly as a marauding wing-back by manager Marcelo Bielsa, his tenacity ensured he was often selected ahead of natural left-back Barry Douglas despite arriving in West Yorkshire as a winger.
However, the 29-year-old would have likely played second fiddle to new recruit Junior Firpo and turned down a new contract in order to seek pastures new.

Alioski has now sealed a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli Saudi FC, but will be fondly remembered by Leeds supporters for his contributions and, of course, his playful side and fondness for stealing cameras.
LeedsLive has picked out Alioski’s five most memorable moments from his four seasons at Elland Road.
Goal of the Season win in debut campaign
Alioski did not take long to endear himself to the Elland Road faithful, scooping the Championship Goal of the Month award after his first month of competitive football in England.
In a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, a crunching tackle from Kalvin Phillips regained possession for Leeds and the loose ball was picked up by Alioski, who sent a low drive into the bottom corner from distance.
The effort also secured him the Goal of the Season award at the end-of-season club ceremony.
Sensational statistic in convincing Championship win
The Macedonian delivered one of his best performances in a Leeds shirt in March 2019, when the Whites ruthlessly dismantled West Bromwich Albion.
Playing at left-back in the 4-0 victory, he won three times as many tackles as any Baggies player in a fantastic display of defensive excellence.
He was also a threat going forward, capping an excellent evening with a goal to add to an already comfortable lead.
Vicious volley in Yorkshire derby
Alioski’s stunning volley in a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in December 2019 was arguably the best goal he ever scored in England.
Alioski celebrates at Huddersfield
The Yorkshire derby was goalless when Alioski appeared on the edge of the box to rifle home, putting Leeds on course to secure a victory and return to the top of the Championship table.
Rocket in rout of West Brom
Alioski loved playing against West Brom.
When Leeds romped to a 5-0 away win over Sam Allardyce’s struggling Baggies in December 2020, Alioski weighed in with a thunderous left-footed effort from just inside the box which rendered Sam Johnstone helpless between the sticks.
Stunning assist for winner against Manchester City
Understandably, Stuart Dallas received most of the plaudits after Leeds stunned Manchester City in April after scoring a brace and delivering a stellar display.

However, Dallas’s winner was made possible by Alioski.
The North Macedonia international spotted the run of his teammate before threading through to him with an inch-perfect, defence-splitting pass.
It was the type of jaw-dropping excellence more associated with the likes of Pablo Hernandez, but Alioski showed he was capable of magic at a crucial moment in Manchester.
