Leeds United transfer rumours as goalkeeper talks ‘advance’ amid work permit reports

Leeds United secured one of their targets in midfielder Lewis Bate yesterday, but it appears they are far from finished in the transfer market.

The 18-year-old became the club’s fifth addition of the summer window but persistent links to players suggest Leeds are going to give themselves work to do before the beginning of the Premier League season.

Leeds moved quickly to secure Bate, evidencing their desire to get deals over the line sooner rather than later and they certainly don’t seem to be waiting around for players to be made available.

Here are some of the rumours that have emerged in the media in the last 24 hours.

Talks with goalkeeper at advanced stage

According to Football Insider, Leeds are closing in on the signing of promising goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.

The 20-year-old has reportedly been on the radar of Director of Football Victor Orta for a lengthy period time and the Spaniard is seemingly close to getting his man.

It has been claimed the Valerenga goalkeeper has been offered a contract and that a work permit application has already been submitted by the Whites.

Leeds-linked target dropped from squad amidst talk of departure

Back in May, Leeds were linked with Colombian winger Santiago Moreno and may be encouraged by recent developments at his club America de Cali.

The 21-year-old was left out of the squad for America de Cali’s most recent game and manager Juan Carlos Osorio has admitted to Marca that Moreno is eyeing a departure.

Moreno is also reportedly on the radar of Rangers, who may have an edge as they can offer European football.

Leeds set to lose young prodigy to Manchester City

Leeds have made a habit of raiding other academies for their players but look set to be raided themselves.

Young prodigy Brooklyn Nfonkeu has agreed terms with Manchester City, according to Football Insider.

The talented teenager joined Leeds from the same junior club Kalvin Phillips represented, Wortley, and has now reportedly caught the attention of the reigning Premier League champions.
