Leeds United goalkeeper Elia Caprile has signed a new contract and sealed a loan move for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign.
The 19-year-old Italian stopper, who joined the club in the January 2020 transfer window has been a regular in Mark Jackson’s under-23s side and has now put pen to paper on a new three-year deal which sees him commit his future to the club until the summer of 2024.
He will now spend the season back in Italy with Serie C side Aurora Pro Patria 1919 where he will look to continue his development and earn some first-team experience.
Caprile was given a 90-minute run out for the under-23s against Guiseley this pre-season, while Dani van den Huevel played the friendlies against Fleetwood Town and Jong Ajax.

This latest move comes after a summer of comings and goings in the Leeds United goalkeeping corps, following Kiko Casilla’s return to Spain on loan with Elche.
Leeds reacted to that by bringing in 20-year-old Norway under-21s international Kristoffer Klaesson from Valerenga last month, with the youngster set to back-up first-choice stopper Illan Meslier between the sticks this season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side face their final pre-season match of the summer this evening when they take on Villarreal in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Their Premier League campaign then kicks off next Saturday lunchtime with a trip to Old Trafford to face bitter rivals Manchester United.
