Carol Kirkwood told Brits to prepare for a major temperature drop this week. Temperatures are expected to drop in Cardiff, Wales and Ireland but in other parts of the country, the highest will be around nine degrees. Ms Kirkwood also explained that the fog and cold from previous weeks are set to carry on this week. There have been no weather warning alerts issued from the UK Met Office for fog and snow today.
Ms Kirkwood added: “Possibly Northern Ireland but later on that will all lift.
“And then for most, it’s going to be a dry and sunny day.
“Now there’s a bit more cloud across the North and the West, that’s thick enough for some drizzle.
“But through the day, even that will start to push away, so it will brighten up across Northern and East Scotland.

“East Anglia, the South East and parts of Southern England and also Cheshire.

“And it’s going to be a night once again, with a widespread frost.”
With winter now in full swing, the Met Office has made a prediction for snowfall in the earliest half of February by using a long-range forecast.
