Here are this morning’s latest Leeds United transfer rumours from across the web.
Aston Villa ‘prepare Kalvin Phillips bid’
Steven Gerrard is said to be a huge fan of Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips and the Athletic are reporting that Aston Villa are preparing a summer bid for the midfielder.
It is reported that the Midlands club have an interest in the Whites being relegated in order to be able to bring Phillips in on a cut-price deal in the summer. Should Leeds remain in the division, the asking price for one of the club’s prize assets – who they don’t want to sell – may well be too much for Villa to afford.

Agents ‘promise’ midfielder Liverpool move
Meanwhile, Football Insider has claimed that Phillips has been told by agents vying for his signature that they can get him a move to Liverpool, should he make them his representatives.
Discussions over a new contract have been going on between Leeds and Phillips for several months, with no announcement forthcoming. The Whites’ perilous position in the Premier League table will not have helped matters and the article states that some believe the removal of Marcelo Bielsa as manager of Leeds makes it more likely that Phillips will move on, rather than stay.
Leeds braced for Meslier offers
It has previously been reported that Barcelona have Illan Meslier on their shortlist of goalkeepers to replace Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. According to TEAMTalk the club are braced for offers as Barcelona’s goalkeeper has continued with his poor form, making the Catalan club firm in their resolve to move on from the German.
It is claimed that there are four other goalkeepers on the list, as well as Meslier, so it may come down to which of the players Barcelona want is the most easily affordable, particularly given their well-publicised financial issues this season. Should Leeds remain in the Premier League, they would demand a high fee for the 22-year-old Frenchman.
