Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Sunday 25th July, 2021.
Manchester United loss
Ahead of the new Premier League campaign, Manchester United have been dealt a blow to their confidence with a pre-season defeat to Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
In something of a wake-up call, Man United lost 4-2 at the hands of the West Londoners, who found the back of the net through Charlie Austin, Lyndon Dykes (2) and Moses Odubajo.
It is now less than three weeks until the season opener at Old Trafford, where Leeds United will look to capitalise on their arch-rivals’ disjointed preparation.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are yet to get a full roll call of players back from holidays and major international tournaments, meaning their pre-season schedule has been somewhat disrupted.

In the Middle East, fans of Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli have claimed Ezgjan Alioski is an imminent arrival, after images were mocked up of the Macedonian in an Al-Ahli kit on Saturday evening.
The club are yet to confirm anything official, meaning these claims remain simply conjectural.
However, plenty of Leeds United supporters took to Twitter to show their gratitude and thank Alioski for his service at Leeds.
The Macedonian’s contract expired at the end of June, turning down the chance to extend his stay in West Yorkshire, choosing instead to explore his options elsewhere.
Hjelde in senior squad
Norwegian teenager Leo Hjelde is subject of reported interest from Leeds United as the club look to continue their impressive U23 recruitment drive.
Amari Miller, Sean McGurk and Lewis Bate have already been added to the roster at Thorp Arch, with Hjelde believed to be in the club’s sights.
The 17-year-old was named on the bench in Celtic’s 6-2 friendly defeat to West Ham United on Saturday.
Hjelde was also listed as the Bhoys’ No. 4, the number last worn by senior defender Shane Duffy.
